Poem : Tick Tock

Tick Tock
Goes the clock
The people go
We sit and wait
Knowing tomorrow may be
Our last day
Tick Tock
Goes the clock
The heat is sweltering
The cool we no not
Sitting on the concrete floor
Letting our thin skin burn
People come in
Think we’re ugly
Walk right past
To look at a puppy
All we can do is stand and smile
As another person walks on bye
Tick Tock
Goes the clock
Feeding time is here
Not enough food for my belly
My head feels light
And my legs like jelly
Water bowl finally refilled
Water brown enough to kill
Take a sip to cool off
Waters hot I start to cough
A worker walks by and hears me wheeze
Why o why did I have to sneeze
I am took out of the cage
It’s the end of the line
Walk to the back room
Shaking because I know my doom
I’m put on a table, with a needle stuck in me
My heart cries out for help but the sounds stop quickly.
Tick Tock
Goes the clock
The people go
We sit and wait
Knowing tomorrow may be
Our last day
